Chinese New Year 2009

went to Tian Hou Temple with Smelly and his family (i can't remember which day cos i was sick all the time during CNY..ugh..) it was a bit jammed when we drove there but still bearable. there's a lot of people lingering around, a lot of food stalls set up at the road side. didn't take any photo of it (i wished i have DLSR)
at the entrance.
i love the lights that they put up at the temple. (i still wished that i have better camera. hint*hint*)
we prayed and made wishes. Smelly and I went to "kow chim" (neh.. those fortune telling sticks that you shake until one of the sticks fall down, but Tian Hou Temple's "chim" is a bit less time consuming cos you just need to take the whole bunch of sticks up and drop it all and take the only stick that sticks out, out. i dunno how to explain. please go there and "kow" yourself.) my fortune is not so good according to the "chim". so i must be more careful (money-wise) this year. Smelly's "chim" is better than mine though. let's just hope that we'll all go through this tough year ahead. we donated some money and lit up a candle each for the God of Fortune or something... hopefully the God of Fortune will take care of us this year.

on the 4th day of CNY, i went to Mid Valley after work for a mini gathering with my ex colleagues in Marriott. it's been like... 2 whole years since the last time i saw them (except for Celeste and Jennifer). we went to Chilli's.

Soup and Caesar's Salad that i ordered. the soup is very rich. just the way i like it.

Fish and Chips.

Triple Play

Club Sandwich

Nachos. everyone thought TGI's Nachos is better.

dunno what Chicken Strips. nice, but a bit too salty.

Since we can only see each other like.. twice a year, we had a lot of things to say but too lil time. Celeste is working with Gulf Air for 2 years now and there's just so many things that we missed about each other.. we're like.. best of friends when we're in Marriott. i miss those times when we'll go on and on about our other halves; and rant and complaint about so many common things!

Sally, Hely and Judy (mommy). we call her mommy cos she's pregnant when we're working there that time. her daughter is so grown up now!! aww..

Judy is actually Chinese converted to Islam. we used to bitch in Cantonese or Hakka in the office last time. LOL! she's our supervisor that time.

Jennifer, Hely, Celeste, Judy, Me, Sally.

i wonder when will be our next gathering... so many things changed. Sally and Hely is working in Shang-ri La now. Mommy is still with Marriott. Jennifer.. er.. i forgot her company's name again. something to do with unit trust. though all of us used to be very close last time, but i guess the closest is me, Celeste and Jennifer. i guess three of us hasn't changed much. we still can talk about everything under the sun.

Day 7th, we went to Tenji. damn alot of people okay! one thing that i don't get is their reservation system. the line is ALWAYS busy or no answer. i had to drive all the way there to make a reservation a week before. luckily still available on 7th. we initially planned to go on the 6th.

we're the earliest there.

didn't eat much that day cos i was too sleepy. i didn't sleep the whole night the day before. luckily someone invented make-up. more photos here.

there's too many people that night. we had to queue for EVERYTHING. food was not as nice as the first time i went there for lunch. almost everyone said that Jogoya is better and have more choices and better system. i think it's just the same. i liked Tenji better cos they have outdoor smoking area. :P

to be continued..
