When To Keep Quiet

“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." -Matthew 7:6 NIV

Not everyone will like to hear your opinion or advise.

Not everyone will like to hear the truth.

Not everyone wants to be helped.

So why waste time and energy to force them to listen and agree with you when they are not ready to accept it?

Everything is about time. The right time to say the right thing so you will get better result.

When someone is not ready to accept it, you're just going to waste your time and effort. It will backfire and come back to bite you.

Why risk it if you know it won't work?

Why bother being the goodhearted person?

Why put yourself in a situation that is not beneficial to you?

Sometimes, it's really better to just keep quiet. Stay put. Don't look back. Don't care.

Reading Again

It's been a while since I last picked up a book to read. Last week, I finally chose a book to accompany me during breakfast. Just want to share a quote from the book that I found inspiring.

"If you don't love what you are doing, do not give your life away by continuing to do it!"
-How To Save Your Own Life by Michael Gates Gill

I read his first book, 'How Starbucks Saved My Life', few years ago and it instantly became one of my favorite memoir (I guess partly because I was a barista at Starbucks too and I felt connected in a way.. haha!). I knew I wouldn't be disappointed when I bought the second book. The moment I started reading, I knew I'll love it as much.

Need to get my reading momentum back. 40-ish books to keep me sane.

"rainbow meets the sunshine only when there are raindrops.
just like we reunite when there are teardrops."

Fringe Season 2

I've been hooked with this tv series called Fringe lately. actually i've watched Season 1 last year and now watching Season 2. waiting for the last 3 episodes to be aired (watched it online..). i think it's a very good series. it's about fringe science. though i'm sure most of the content were fictional, but somehow, it got me thinking that there ARE possibilities of some of the events happening in real life (perhaps it's the way they interpret all of the incidents.. they made it sound as if it's really possible!)

i really love Walter Bishop's character. it reminds me of my late gramma ( he's got bad memory ). there's this scene where he got lost in Chinatown and tried calling his son, Peter, on the public phone and he couldn't remember the correct sequence of the phone number, he used up all of his coins dialing the wrong number. then he sat there at the bus stop, a chinese lady sat beside him, waiting for bus, and he broke down. he said "i've used up all of my coins, dialing 7 wrong numbers". then he said he he rememebr there's a few numbers, he just couldn't remember the correct sequence.

aww.. such a heartbreaking scene. actually Peter kept a paper in his coat, containing his address and telephone number, cos he knows that his father don't remember well and he might get lost sometimes. when Peter found him and told him that he kept the note in the coat and asked, "don't you remember?" Walter answered, "no. i don't remember" with a very sad expression... damn sad okay.

besides that, Walter is quite cute. especially when there's new dead body for him to do post mortem/experiment! always associates what he sees in the dead body/ weird cases with food.. quote from one of the episoded:

Astrid: Chicken. You serious?
Walter: Just a hypothesis. What do you think, more like pork?
Astrid: Truthfully, I don’t really spend a lot of time thinking about what human brains would taste like.
Walter: Then why did you ask?

anyway, i'm not gonna write so much about this... you guys should really watch it yourself!! this show is totally recommended by me!! go watch it NOW!!!
