Chinese New Year 2009

went to Tian Hou Temple with Smelly and his family (i can't remember which day cos i was sick all the time during CNY..ugh..) it was a bit jammed when we drove there but still bearable. there's a lot of people lingering around, a lot of food stalls set up at the road side. didn't take any photo of it (i wished i have DLSR)
at the entrance.
i love the lights that they put up at the temple. (i still wished that i have better camera. hint*hint*)
we prayed and made wishes. Smelly and I went to "kow chim" (neh.. those fortune telling sticks that you shake until one of the sticks fall down, but Tian Hou Temple's "chim" is a bit less time consuming cos you just need to take the whole bunch of sticks up and drop it all and take the only stick that sticks out, out. i dunno how to explain. please go there and "kow" yourself.) my fortune is not so good according to the "chim". so i must be more careful (money-wise) this year. Smelly's "chim" is better than mine though. let's just hope that we'll all go through this tough year ahead. we donated some money and lit up a candle each for the God of Fortune or something... hopefully the God of Fortune will take care of us this year.

***********************************************

on the 4th day of CNY, i went to Mid Valley after work for a mini gathering with my ex colleagues in Marriott. it's been like... 2 whole years since the last time i saw them (except for Celeste and Jennifer). we went to Chilli's.

Soup and Caesar's Salad that i ordered. the soup is very rich. just the way i like it.

Fish and Chips.

Triple Play

Club Sandwich

Nachos. everyone thought TGI's Nachos is better.

dunno what Chicken Strips. nice, but a bit too salty.

Since we can only see each other like.. twice a year, we had a lot of things to say but too lil time. Celeste is working with Gulf Air for 2 years now and there's just so many things that we missed about each other.. we're like.. best of friends when we're in Marriott. i miss those times when we'll go on and on about our other halves; and rant and complaint about so many common things!

Sally, Hely and Judy (mommy). we call her mommy cos she's pregnant when we're working there that time. her daughter is so grown up now!! aww..

Judy is actually Chinese converted to Islam. we used to bitch in Cantonese or Hakka in the office last time. LOL! she's our supervisor that time.

Jennifer, Hely, Celeste, Judy, Me, Sally.

i wonder when will be our next gathering... so many things changed. Sally and Hely is working in Shang-ri La now. Mommy is still with Marriott. Jennifer.. er.. i forgot her company's name again. something to do with unit trust. though all of us used to be very close last time, but i guess the closest is me, Celeste and Jennifer. i guess three of us hasn't changed much. we still can talk about everything under the sun.

*************************************************

Day 7th, we went to Tenji. damn alot of people okay! one thing that i don't get is their reservation system. the line is ALWAYS busy or no answer. i had to drive all the way there to make a reservation a week before. luckily still available on 7th. we initially planned to go on the 6th.

we're the earliest there.

didn't eat much that day cos i was too sleepy. i didn't sleep the whole night the day before. luckily someone invented make-up. more photos here.

there's too many people that night. we had to queue for EVERYTHING. food was not as nice as the first time i went there for lunch. almost everyone said that Jogoya is better and have more choices and better system. i think it's just the same. i liked Tenji better cos they have outdoor smoking area. :P

to be continued..

My Chinese New Year.

So I’ve been sick (AGAIN) before and during Chinese New Year. What a good start huh. I guess it was the heat that caused my very terrible headache. It lasted me for 4 days! I started work yesterday, but only my lady boss and me (I have 2 bosses fyi) came to work because others (on my floor) took leave until Monday (except my “real” boss who start work today). My head was spinning and the headache came back. So I went home at lunchtime and went to see the doctor. I told him that I’ve had this headache for FOUR days already. It comes and goes. I took Panadols and it still didn’t go away (I tried Panadol ActiFast the first day, it worked for few hours and the next few days, it just didn’t work. I tried the normal Panadol and it worked only for few hours). He asked his routine questions like, “Do you have fever? Cough? Phlegm?” and checked my body temperature, which is perfectly normal, but I still felt feverish and super bad sore throat.. Maybe it’s really the heat.

I had fever that few days that I had headache (it’s like a combo package. Wtf.). But surprisingly, the fever only happens in the afternoon… so it must be the heat.

So anyway, the doctor told me that Panadol wouldn’t work for my headaches and prescribed Ponstan instead. And he gave me some antibiotics and some tablets to suck (for my sore throat). Oh.. I even asked him for half-day MC. He gave me full day instead. What a wonderful man. Bleh!

Took the medicine right away and went to Pertama Complex with Smelly. The headache got worse the moment I stepped out of the car. We walked for a while and it got from worse to WORST. I kept telling Smelly that I wanted to go home cos I really can’t stand it. He said, “Since we’re here, let’s go Sogo.” T_T why my boyfriend like that one.. Sigh. Since we don’t really go shopping that often anymore and since it’s been few years since I first and last stepped into Sogo, might as well go have a look.

Even though it’s only opposite road, I felt like we walked for few kilometers.

There’s sale going on and quite a lot of people around. Smelly kept asking me, “You don’t wanna buy anything?”

“No”

I know he tried to make me stay awake and tried to make me forget my headache, which is helpful in a way la… but still, I was quite grumpy throughout our outing. I kept telling him that I wanted to go home.

Smelly bought a polo shirt and a belt for work. I didn’t get anything though. I just wanted to go home.

We stopped by MaxValu (Jusco) near our place to get some red wines. I got ourselves (well actually it’s for me lah) some sushi and half dozen of Wong Lo Kat (the famous herbal tea). “Sushi again???!?”

“Yea. I feel like eating.” Actually, I just can’t resist buying. :P buying sushi at Jusco is a MUST every time I go there.

We bought 2 bottles of red wines. We’re not wine experts but somehow we discovered that we fell in love with red wines since the Christmas Pool Party. bleh. We also know that good red wines are expensive (the cheapest bottle that we drank over at Kenny’s is RM300++! We drank about a total of RM3000++ worth of red wines that night.. and I don’t think we drank more than 10 bottles… no wonder it tasted SO GOOD!) anyway, since we’re not expert drinkers (yet), we bought those cheap ones for a start. RM 50++ a bottle. One of it is Jacob’s Creek, still haven’t try yet. The other bottle is.. dunno what brand but it’s from Chile or something… Which I think it tasted okay lah.. but let’s not compare it with the ones that we drank at Kenny’s.

So anyway.. we went home and I had some sushi and watched The Gem Of Life episode 59 or 60 (mch!! I HATE HATE HATE that Jessica!!! She’s so ungrateful to her mother!! I felt like stabbing her with my chopstick and stuff her with Alfie’s poo!)

Actually, the first thing I did when I reached home is drink the Wong Lo Kat. And within half an hour, my sore throat miraculously HEALED. Yes. HEALED. I wonder if it’s the Ponstan, the sucking tablet or if it’s really the magical Wong Lo Kat. If it’s the Wong Lo Kat, then it must be the heat that caused my fever, headache and sore throat… I should’ve bought it earlier right? Sigh.

Ok. I think I’m getting more and more long-winded. Ciaoz before I became like my gramma : “Ah Hung, who’s shoe is that?” repeat 10 times in 15minutes. My gramma is so cute. *hugs*

My Simple Target 2009

I bought some DVDs two weeks ago.. watched Ip Man (great movie!! But I hate hate HATE the Japanese ass-istant of the General!). Finally watched Batman: The Dark Knight! (OMG!!! Now I know why they say Heath Ledger is/was very good!!! I think nobody can replace The Joker now.. and Smelly fell asleep watching it! wth!) I also finally watched Madagascar (I know it’s very late..) and I watched Shutter (Thai version) yesterday night.. (stupid Smelly keep on teasing me with his hands creeping on my head. ZzZzz ) ugh.. I think I don’t dare to drive alone at night these few days.. post-movie trauma.

Still have Max Payne, They Wait and Madagascar: Escape to Africa DVDs to be watched during Chinese New Year…

Ok.. this year, I’m going to make a resolution.

Yes.

Like previous years, I DO make resolutions that have never been resolved and I noticed that I’ve been breaking my own promises every year.

Almost every year, I’ll tell myself to shed off SOME pounds but that only lasted for few months.

I’ll tell myself to go home more often to see my gramma and accompany my dad, talk to him more and all… but then, like usual, it only lasted for few weeks… (okay.. maybe it’s few days.. but hey.. at least I tried right??)

I’ll also tell myself to try to be more alert and less forgetful. But I guess it’s either genetic or lack of interest made me this way.

I’ll tell myself to make a habit and save money every month. But yeah.. like usual, plan failed.. (but then I managed to save up for my Bangkok trip last year… considered as saving also right? RIGHT? Just that I used it up after I saved. Wtf!)

Ok.. this year, I’m going to set targets for myself too.

- Work out at least ONCE a week. (that’s what new running shoes are for, right…)

- Go home at lease THREE DAYS a week (staying overnight is totally OPTIONAL). [I noticed recently that I couldn’t sleep without Smelly. T_T I hate to admit that I’ve become so dependant on him now]

- Spend less. be more stingy Spend only when needed (this is hard. Ugh).

- Start Japanese class (I think I can do this *finger crossed*).

- Party less (no comments. Smelly is the culprit. I SWEAR!!).

- FORCE bring Smelly to the dentist to extract his rotten wisdom tooth!! (So sick of it!! I’ve been trying for TWO years!!! I can’t believe it! ugh!! I think he’s afraid to go dentist. Wakakaka!!)

- Hang out more with my friends. My girl friends. My best friend. My circle. (This is a hope, not a target. Sigh! Why everyone is so busy!!)

So hopefully, by end of this year, I’ll be able to meet my target and keep these promises to myself. I have a feeling that I can only meet one or two targets. =.=

But I’m determined this time!

This is a challenge!

Let’s see how many points I’ll get end of this year.

Bleh!!

How I Got My Running Shoes.

Went shopping last week. We went to Gardens and back to Mid Valley cos we can’t find the pharmacy in Gardens (do they even have one at the first place? ). I complained how sucky it was, to have no pharmacy in “high class” shopping complex. “Rich people don’t need pharmacy meh? Cis!”

Then we went back to Gardens again. We went to Isetan and Smelly saw some shoes that he like was on sale but only for Isetan members only, so we applied for the card for RM20. But too bad, they don’t have the shoes in his size. We walked around for a while before heading to KL. At first, he wanted to go Pertama Complex (yeah.. paria, I know.. but he said the shoes there are cheap and quite nice and most importantly, they have it in his size), but we didn’t go there at last cos Smelly said he wanted to go KLCC. “Why KLCC? There’s nothing there lah.. Same like Mid Valley and Gardens right? Some more the parking so expensive…”

“They have Isetan ma.. You lah! Just now buy the card and didn’t buy anything there… some more I paid but write YOUR name… cis!”

Damn kiasu right? bleh!

Isetan KLCC also doesn’t have his size, so he bought another brand instead, which is like… 50% more expensive than the one that he wanted at first. The pair that he wanted but no size is only like.. RM 170 before 50% discount. But I like it very much.. it’s actually the very first pair that I saw when we went to Isetan Gardens 2 weeks ago, but he said it’s expensive and wanted to see if they have something cheaper and nicer.. but I think it’s fate lor… cos after 2 weeks, he still can’t find anything nice that’s on discount so he had to buy those new arrival with only 10% off. I think it’s worth it lah.. RM270 for a pair of shoes that he can wear to work or casual outing.

I saw some sport shoes on 50% sale and took a look. Saw something that I like.

Dy: Nice hor? Can run with these, right?

Smelly: Mm.. (nodded)

Dy: Can you sponsor these too? Heheh..

Smelly: Cannot buy shoes for girlfriend lah.. Later you run away how? =P

Dy: Yalah.. I memang going to run… Run to become slimmer FOR YOU lor…

Smelly: -_-

Dy: Ok ah? Last year you bought sneakers for me.. This year also lah.. hou mou? Plus, since you always want me to become thin thin, you sponsor these as a motivation lah.. =P

Smelly: =.=

Dy: Thank you bB!! Muahx muahx!

Smelly: (knn… always use this tactic…) ß I’m damn sure he’s thinking like that lor! LOL!

We bought sushi at Isetan’s supermarket for dinner cos it’s all 50% off. But 50% also I spent RM90 for it! ok lah.. since he sponsor shoes, I sponsor dinner lor… bluek!

Spanking new running shoes! RM129 after 50% discount. Ok hor?

As everyone knows, I’m talking about going to the gym for like.. 3 months already and still haven’t started. Now that I got a pair of running shoes, I’m going to make full use of it! Eh… running shoes is not cheap leh.. Most shoes (good ones) also cost more than RM100! I think it’s very expensive lor.. luckily it’s sponsored!

"Stalker"

About 3-4 months ago, I went out with Connie, my ex-colleague. We’re out til quite late, I think around 2-3a.m. she sent me home and made a u-turn (the road is dead end) further from my house so that she can stop in front of my gate. I saw a guy cruising on his motorcycle, following our car, and passed us, going further in and made a u-turn out. I was alarmed cos I’ve never seen that guy in our street before. “Eh, why that guy following us??” I ask Connie.

“yalor.. Why he’s making u-turn also geh?”

We already stopped our car in front of my gate and he passed us and when he reached the junction, he made another u-turn back!

“Eh!! sei lor… what he wants?” I was a bit scared.

You know lah… nowadays anything can happen. Even your own house is not safe.

So I waited in the car. He stopped right beside the driver’s side and smile at us! At first, I thought he’s police, but then he’s wearing normal shirt and pants with a normal motorcycle.. So confirm not police lah. Plus, the neighborhood usually has patrol cars, not bikes. And they don’t go in the housing lanes cos it’s very narrow. So I don’t dare to get out from the car… what if he wants to rob us?

“Eh.. What he wants from us? Why he smile like that…”

“Never mind, I call Ah Ming,” I quickly call Smelly while Connie kept pointing at Smelly’s house, gesturing that she’s dropping me off.

“Bie… Can you come out and rescue me now? Got someone outside the house, following us…” I told Smelly.

By the time Smelly came out, the guy cruised off already. Maybe he saw Smelly coming out… So I went in with Smelly.

I told Smelly what happened.

“Stupid dum dum.. It’s the Rukun Tetangga’s (residential community centre) security patrol lah!”

-.-

“Since when they have patrol?”

“Since 2 weeks ago.. RM30 per month.. We have the Security Patrol sign tied on the gate also, you didn’t notice meh?”

“Nope.”

=.=

How I Got My Shopping Money. Bleh!

Last week…

Dy : bB… this year you sponsor me Chinese New Year clothes.. ok?

Smelly : NO.

Few days after..

Dy: Bie… my new year clothes.. You sponsor okay? Thank you! kiss kiss..

Smelly : Why leh?

Dy : cos I got no money d.

Smelly : Liar. You always say no money… then suddenly got money.

Dy : This time, I really no money buy clothes. Sobz.. so cham okay.. *sniffs*..

Smelly : herh..

Few days ago..

Dy : Bie… I think very deep already. Don’t have to buy expensive phone for me. You buy the cheaper one that you originally wanted to buy lah..

Smelly : Why?

Dy : Cos if you buy the cheaper one, you will have extra money to sponsor my clothes! See I so smart!

Smelly : -_-

Dy : Ok? RM 200 only… please… thank you!!

The day before shopping….

Dy : bie… I’m going shopping tomorrow…

Smelly : No..

Dy : Bluek!!

Shopping day…

Early morning when Smelly getting ready to work…

Eyes half open, “Bie…. My shopping money…”

No response.

“bB……………………………. Shopping money..”

No response.

“My money…..”

Still no response..

Just before going off, took out RM 200, put on table… “Money stealer… bleh!!” rushed out..

dy : Love you too!

Shopping!

Went to Sungei Wang yesterday. Stuck in the jam for one fucking hour cos they closed the road to their parking. I ended up parking outdoor, beside HSBC building. Reached there about 5pm and got myself few underwear and 2 dresses. Bumped into Connie and Ah Peng and went yamcha for a while before continuing our shopping mission. We left around 8.30pm. I went home with:-

2 dresses (RM 50)
2 pairs of shoes (RM 68.70)
1 top (RM 25)
Few panties (RM 28.50)
1 bottle of make up remover (RM16.20)
1 packet of cleansing tissue (RM 10.80)
1 tube of moisturizer lotion (RM 37)
1 bottle of B-Liv : Off With Those Heads (RM 189)
1 bottle of B-Liv : Shrink and Tighten (RM 70)
1 tube of B-Liv : Squeaky Clean (RM 69.90)
1 tweezer (RM 7.10)
2 pairs of tights (RM 26.80)

Total damage : RM 599

RM 599 is a lot to me okay… but since I only shop like.. once a year (excluding monthly shoe buys), I guess it’s ok lah.

My mission was to get few dress/tops, a pair of shoe, a pair of jeans/pants, make up remover, cleansing tissue, underwear and panty liners (which I’ve obviously forgotten to buy). I ended up buying more than what I initially wanted to get.

Actually, I’ve been wanting to buy B-Liv (formerly known as Cellnique) skincare for quite some time d.. But cos I always think that it’s very expensive, I didn’t get it. So after a whole year, or more, of contemplating, I finally bought it. I tried Cellnique’s Pro Sebum Gel (now they call it Off With Those Heads) before and I really love it! But cos it’s very pricey, I didn’t continue using it. After a while, the blackheads came back. As you see, I ended up getting more than just one bottle of products. They’re having this promotion where if you purchase RM 200 or more, you can get the Shrink And Tighten for only RM 70 (retail price is RM 139). It’s like.. 50% off! So I bought Squeaky Clean so that it’ll become more than RM 200. :P kiasu…

Back to the story.. Actually, I only wanted to get a moisturizer lotion, but then I took all the 3 B-Liv products and put it in my basket, still thinking whether to buy or not… so I asked Ah Peng… “shall I buy? It’s like… RM189 for ONE bottle.”

“How long you can use it for?”

“Last time, 30ml can last for 3 months… now it’s 50ml.. hmm.. 5 months gua..”

“Now, you think like this.. RM 189, you divide by 5 months, how much per month?”

“About RM 30 plus”

“Okay… RM 30 plus, you divide again by 30 days… you’re only spending RM 1 plus per day,” he calculated. “You think this way, does it make you feel better?”

“Ya wor… RM 1 plus per day is not so expensive also mah… right? hmm.. ok lah… I buy! Ah Peng, you can become a promoter guy here already! Haha!”

So I went back and calculated the total if I add the moisturizer and all 3 products…

RM 37 + RM 189 + RM 70 + RM 69.90 = RM 365.90

RM 365.90 divide by 5 months = RM 73.18

RM 73.18 divide by 30days = RM 2.439333333333

Round it up.. I’m only using RM 2.50 per day for my face.

Ok mah.

Right?

Better than I use RM 200 ONE time for facial.

Right?

So now, I’m going to put RM 2.50 in the coin box daily. After 5 months, I can get a new set of skincare again! LOL!

Anyway.. Special thanks to Smelly, for sponsoring RM 200 for my shopping yesterday. Muahx!

Third Anniversary.

To my dearest Smelly bB,

Happy third anniversary!

Three years is not a very long duration, but it’s long enough for both of us to understand and know each other thoroughly. It’s certainly long enough for both of us to decide whether we really want to be with each other… if not, I’m sure we won’t hold on until today, huh?

Like every relationship, I’ve definitely learned a lot in this. You watched me said goodbye to my teenage life and lead me through when I stepped into adulthood. You made me realize that it’s important to be selfish sometimes. You made me realized that it’s not about getting how much that we gave, it’s about receiving and enjoying something that other people don’t.

I’m not sure how much I’ve changed your life after we met, but I’m very sure that things are different after you appeared in mine. I hope that my presence brings a lot of joy in your life and I hope that this relationship will be your most wonderful and memorable one. We cannot guarantee what will happen in the future, but I really hope that we both learned something from each other and be a better person for each other.

I wanted to write more, but I guess I'll just save the mushy part.. =)

Muahx! Love you bie!

Christmas Pool Party 2008

*i wrote this the day after the party.. but only posting it today cos i was lazy to upload the photos. bleh!*
I was late to the party. T_T

My plan was to go home and doll myself up quickly and go over to Kenny’s around 7 cos the dinner starts at 8.

About 10am that day, mom called and asked me to get a parcel that she sent over to her friend’s place at Subang. I called her friend up and she told me that she’s leaving outstation the day after for don’t know how long. So I thought of going there after work and still can make it in time before they start the dinner.

When I finished work, I called my mom’s friend and she said she’ll not be home until 7-8pm. -_-

Then, Kenny called and ask me to run some errands, I had to go Bandar Sri Damansara. T_T

Damn cham okay.

I was stuck in the traffic jam all the way from Sunway to Damansara and from there back to Subang. After all the errands, I reached home about 8.30 and found Smelly STILL in his sleeping clothes (he went home earlier that day cos he’s sick).

I quickly changed and made up while waiting for him to shower.

Reached Kenny’s around 10pm. T_T

Almost everybody was there and finished eating. Sobz. Luckily it’s buffet style and some friends are still helping themselves up for second and third round. =P

I FORGOT TO BRING MY CAMERA.

So I didn’t have the food and deco photos. But I managed to get Kenny to take few photos of Smelly and me with the deco. The food was nice. We had lamb (very tasty), roast chicken, fried chicken wings, fried calamari, prawn fritters (absolutely delicious!), salad, potato salad, stewed beef, buttered broccoli, garlic bread, rice and fruits. This is what I remembered eating… lol. Quite a lot right?

The night wasn’t complete without alcohol. They have beer, whiskey, red wine, champagne, you name it, they have it. Smelly and me only had red wine cos beer is not my thing and whiskey is too heavy for me. Smelly can’t mix his alcohol so he opted for red wine. I can’t remember how many types and brands of red wine we had but they surely served good quality ones (though I’m not so pro in drinking red wine, I know a lil bit about it lah..).

After gift exchange session, we jumped in the pool. Only few of us went in. cos others can’t swim they don’t wanna get wet. Damn not sporting lor they all.

I fell asleep on the floating bed for a while and got waken up by my brother in law splashing water on me (damn you). the party was a success I can say. I’m so happy that Shorty can make it to the party. oh.. my present was a glass chess set. Hehe.. Something that I wanted to get long time ago but didn’t cos I don’t know where to put it and I don’t know how to play chess. Heheh.
